The 13th Annual Crescent City Cup
$2,500 top prize in Open Divisions!
Co-presented by the Word Game Players Organization (WGPO) and the Collins Coalition (CoCo)

Dates: January 18-20, 2025
Saturday, January 18: Registration at 8:30am. Games begin by 9:30am, 8 games with break after 4 games
Sunday, January 19: Games begin at 9:30am, 8 games with break after 4 games
Monday, January 20: Games begin at 9:30am, 4 games followed by awards ceremony
Venue: Drury Plaza Hotel New Orleans
Room rate $169/night (overnight on-site parking for an additional $34/night). Day parking for commuters is $15/day. Reserve online at Crescent City Cup Scrabble Tourney or call reservations at 1-800-325-0720 (refer to Group No. 10107653). Rate also available 3 days before and after the tourney. Deadline to book rooms at the Scrabble rate is December 14, 2023. Room rate includes hot breakfast, 5:30pm-7pm hot food and two alcoholic beverages, and free wifi throughout the hotel. Hotel and playing space are handicap accessible.
Back-up hotel block: TBD
No commuter fee for players opting to stay at alternate locations.
Format: 20 games, Open & Lite Divisions
Modified Swiss, Round Robin and King of the Hill. Gibsonizing will be used if warranted.
NWL Divisions
NWL Open Division with class prizes – open to all players. Double challenge.
NWL Lite Division for those with a WGPO rating of 1300 and below as of January 5, 2024. Double challenge.
NWL rating cutoffs will be based on the player’s WGPO rating. If a WGPO rating doesn’t exist, then the NASPA rating will be used.
Players must be members of WGPO. Membership is free.
CSW Divisions
CSW Open Division with class prizes – open to all players. 5-point per word challenge.
CSW Lite Division for those rated 16001 and below as of January 6, 2023. 5-point per word challenge.
CSW rating cutoffs will be based on the payer’s CoCo rating. If a CoCo rating doesn’t exist, then the WESPA rating will be used.
CSW divisions will be WESPA rated.
Players must be members of WGPO and CoCo. Membership is free.
Minimum of 6 players per division. Open and Lite will be combined if the minimum is not reached.
Word Lists: CSW21 and WOW24
Some games may be livestreamed. Should WOW players consent to being broadcast on our live stream, a short list of slurs will not be allowed. The list will be available for reference at the streaming table.

Entry Fee: $145
Fully registered entrants by November 30th are eligible for prize drawing (refund of entry fee).
Registration Deadline: Entries must be received by January 15, 2024. No walk-ins.
Players must be members of WGPO (WOW/CSW) and CoCo (CSW). Membership to both organizations is free.
Refunds of entry fees are available prior to the start of the event.
